“having been approached by Wistio to trial some of their benchmark Presta Tubeless Valve Products. I was very excited as I had been looking for quite some time to convert my wheels over to a tubeless setup and saw this as the perfect opportunity to do so.

After taking the appropriate action and setting up my rims with tubeless rim tape, etc it was time to test out the Valves.

The care package that Wistio sent me contained a wide variety of valves to suit a whole different variety of rim types and sizes from American Classic right through to your normal Stans type set up. They also conveniently come in a variety of lengths and colours to suits everyone’s personal preferences.

Wistio also have an extensive range of valve support products such as valve core removal tools, valve stem extenders, custom alloy valve caps & also Presta to Strada screw on adaptors to make for ease of convince for checking your tyre pressures on the go at service stations etc.

I chose to go with the 36mm anodised green standard valves on my convert. I found them to fit and seal off the valve hole and rim much better than expected and with the aid of the valve core removal tool was able to easily inflate the tyre to the rim and pop the bead with minimal fuss making for a much simpler set up.  Once the tyre was beaded, core reinstalled and the sealant added the valve again surpassed our expectations with how well it holds pressure with minimal force needed to secure the valve tip. Whilst my Mavic CrossOne rim on the front sealed up with no fuss at all my rear Araya rim did present a few more hassles to set up however this had more to do with the cheaper quality rim and nothing to do with the Wistio products.

I’m yet to have a decent ride on some more technical trails to fully test the wheels new tubeless capabilities and the lower pressures achievable with running tubeless wheels however based on my (& my mechanics) initial impressions we are both very impressed with the entire Wistio product range and will be very keen to not only recommend them other persons & shops looking for a solution to their Tubeless Presta Valve needs but I will also be using Wistio products personally in the future!”

Video Script:

Hey guys, Bahrstool here.

Just making a short video to tell you all about my new tubeless setup thanks to Wistio!

If we look here, you’ll see my new tubeless Presta valves. The thing I like about the Wistio products are were not only were they super easy to install but they seal awesomely. I’ve had absolutely no issues with leakage and keep in mind that my rims are not tubeless ready rims. I’ve had to convert them over.

We did have some trouble in converting my rear wheel however I believe this is more to do with it being a cheap entry level Araya Rim and as I have said it was not tubeless ready.

The other thing I like about Wistio are that they have a large variety of products whether it be length and style to suit basically any wheel. They also come in a large array of colours and also a range of anodised valve caps to once again to give you a bit of a personal touch.

So if we just zoom in here and have a look.

There you have it mate, that’s Wistio tubeless Presta valves. Now let’s go ride!

  1. I see that the top racers are all going tsublees. The comments I hear are that they are faster and smoother, especially in the corners. Now looks like the Easton EA90 RT is the best buy. I am told a great price for a great wheelset.
